Guangdong National Advanced Energy Storage Research Institute Co., Ltd. was established in April 2023 and is jointly funded by 13 leading enterprises across the upstream and downstream of the industry chain, including China Southern Power Grid Technology Co., Ltd., Datang Group, Huadian Group, China Southern Power Grid Energy Storage Co., Ltd., and EVE Energy Co., Ltd. Its headquarters is located in Baiyun New Town, Baiyun District, Guangzhou. As the operating entity of the National Innovation Center for Advanced Energy Storage, the Company undertakes the responsibilities of center development, operation, and management. It focuses on three major missions—"technological innovation, engineering application, and industrialization of achievements"—and is committed to accelerating the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation in advanced energy storage, enhancing capabilities in key technology engineering and industrialization. The Company strives to make positive contributions to building China's technological innovation system for advanced energy storage, supporting national energy security, and advancing green and low-carbon transformation, with the goal of establishing itself as a source of original technological innovation and a hub for collaborative industrial innovation in the field of advanced energy storage.

Guangdong Advanced Energy Storage Industry Technology Innovation Alliance brings together industry-academia-research institutions including BYD, Sunwoda, Penghui Energy, Huawei Digital Power, Macau Electricity Company, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the University of Macau, covering over 85% of national-level innovation platforms in the advanced energy storage sector.

The Alliance is a new-type science and technology cooperation organization established to meet the development needs of the advanced energy storage industrial cluster in the new era. The Alliance upholds the core position of innovation in China's modernization drive, adheres to a "dual-wheel drive" approach of technological innovation and institutional innovation, and remains guided by both demand-oriented and problem-oriented principles.
